Being Green!

In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint and leave a better world for our children, we have made the following changes to move to a greener facility:

• Low flush toilets

• Air hand dryers in bathrooms instead of paper towels

• Time activated thermostats in the classrooms

• Heated front sidewalks requiring less snow melt

• Compost center for recycling waste for worm farm and gardens

• Recycling center for reusing materials for class projects

• Airlocks at all the main entrances to control heat loss

• Motion activated lights in the bathrooms that require less electrical energy

• Sinks that have timed flow control dispensing valves

• Synthetic turf in large playground areas for lower water demands and maintenance issues

• Xeriscaping in the front entrance of the complex reducing the need for heavy watering of plants

• Waterfalls and ponds all have sump pumps to recycle water
